Update on Hannah

Last week, Hannah was born on Monday. We went and visited which was so fun! She came home with her parents and Nathan on Wednesday. By Thursday, she only had had one wet diaper and was losing weight. She wasn't eating very well and they were very concerned she was sick. They took her to the pediatrician and he told them to take her up to Primary's. She was admitted there after a long wait in the E.R. with meningitis. We were all stunned and very concerned. She had lost a pound since she was born and was very lethargic. We were all praying hard for her and her parents.

The next day, Jack became sick with what sounded like bronchitis, so we were not able to go see Hannah up at Primary's. My parents went up there every day and Traci's mom was up there a ton too. Hannah was really bouncing back once she was on fluids. Many different doctors came in and nurses were in and out. Matt and Traci stayed with Hannah 24/7.

So here is what happened today. A doctor came in and told them she does not have and never did have meningitis. A tech was the one in charge of the lab the night that Hannah came in. He read the slide wrong and they were now figuring it all out. Turns out she has a rip roaring urinary tract infection which there are still going to have to treat with IV antibiotics. She is going to be able to go home on Tuesday. She will have a pick line and is very susceptible to infection so they are not really wanting a lot of visitors right now.

We are so relieved that she only has a UTI and not meningitis and we appreciate all the concerns and prayers.
