Happy New Year and Happy Birthday Johnny and Merry Christmas!

Wow I have a lot to get updated on! First was Johnny's 30th birthday! He ages so well! We had everybody (21 adults and 6 kids) crammed into our tiny living room and kitchen to celebrate! I had ordered a cake from Costco which is quite possibly the smartest thing I could have done! We opened presents and ate cake and ice cream and then just visited. It was such a laid back party and so nice to see everybody!

I sure do love Johnny and I am so glad I have him. I was going to write down the thirty reasons that I love Johnny on his thirtieth birthday, but I ran out of time with school and home stuff, so I love him for a million reasons and hope that he will always know that!

Next was Christmas Eve. I caught Jack in a really silly mood and got some great pictures! Then we went to my parents house for dinner and presents. Johnny had to work and Jack slept through the whole thing! It was so fun to be with family!

We went to dinner a few days later with Johnny's Grandma Virginia who was in town. Johnny's mom Margaret and his sister Celeste and her two girls, Isabelle and Liliana went too. Jack spent most of the time, deciding on what to order:

Our Christmas Bonus!

It is so frustrating when you think you have everything planned out and then something just comes up and BAM!!! plans change. Today Johnny and Jack were going to come and visit me at work. The snow was coming down pretty good but Johnny stayed at about 20-25 mph. He was going north on state street when a guy in a burgundy SUV did an illegal u-turn and slid right into Johnny head on. The baby started screaming and I think Johnny would have too, but he was trying to keep it together for Jack. He called me and I drove the couple blocks to where he was. I sat with him while he did the paper work and talked to Jack to keep him calm. The police man gave Johnny the driver information sheet and (low and behold!) we found the driver has NO INSURANCE!!! Argh! So we will be stuck with a $500 deductible. There goes the Christmas Bonus! Johnny was going to get a new laptop, but really I am just glad they're safe. The policeman cited him for everything he could, no insurance, bald tires, turning into traffic, etc. The cop told him that he would have taken him to jail, but he didn't have time today! So frustrating! Luckily Johnny was only going 20 mph and some of the pictures don't look that bad, but still. And actually I don't care how much it costs as long as both of my boys are safe! We truly are blessed.

And on a happier note, Jack continues to be really really cute in his Christmas Jammies!

SUCCESS!!!

Wahoo! Johnny was just offered his dream job today! As of December 29, 2008, Johnny will be a Murray City Firefighter/Paramedic! He went and met with the chief today and was offered the job after a few questions. They interviewed 50 people and hired 9! We are so excited! This is soooooo much closer than Eagle Mountain. He has been driving there three times a week and the poor car has really racked up the miles! The gas money was a pain too. He might be working at the station that is 2 blocks east of our house! He could walk to work!!! So if you see him, tell him congratulations! If you don't see him, thank our Heavenly Father for this wonderful amazing blessing, because we owe it to him (and Johnny's hard work, but mostly to Heavenly Father)!

Help!! He Won't Sleep!

Okay, here is the deal: I am a special ed teacher, I even have an emphasis in early childhood. I have taken many classes on behavior modification and thought I was getting pretty good at it, until my cute little son arrived. He is only eight months old and his manipulation skills are some of the best! He goes to bed consistently around 10:30-11:00 at night. He wakes up two to three times during the night to eat and will go right back to sleep after nursing. He then wakes up for the morning about 8:30-9:00. This schedule does not work for me! I am tired and as Johnny will attest to, quite cranky at times! Soooo, I have tried following experienced mothers advice. I have a bedtime routine and it helps but it is not getting him to bed earlier. We feed him solid food before bed and he still stays up late and wakes up multiple times. The next thing was to just put him in his bed and let him cry it out. Well that is all well and good. I could withstand the screaming bloody murder okay but a month ago or so, Johnny went in and got him and on his way out, he threw up all over Johnny and the floor. Then last night it was 10:45 and he had only been screaming for seven minutes. I went into the hall to make sure he was still breathing and I hear him throwing up all over himself and the bed. He then started to gag because he was on his back when he threw up. I couldn't leave him in his crib in throw up for multiple reasons. When I got him out, he was shaking so much I almost dropped him. He wouldn't stop shaking like he was terrified. We have put night lights in his room and I promise I have never beaten him. He is asleep now, miracle of miracles and it is only 9:46! I worked really hard at getting him to not take an evening nap! What do I do? I don't want him to aspirate vomit, but at the same time, sleep is so precious to me! HELP ME!!!

What a Long Time!

I didn't realize until I got on here that I haven't posted for a month now! I got sick in between times and life seems to keep us very busy! I don't think we did anything great in particular, just stuff. Jack has been soooooooo cranky! He has had so many teeth come in lately! He is up to eight and one of his eye teeth is trying to come through. Luckily he doesn't bite while he is nursing! Johnny is being such a good daddy having him all the time! Jack is inch worming across the floor, but his head weighs so mch, he can't get it up high enough to start crawling on his own. But it is a positive because as soon as he starts we can never go back!
Johnny has applied with Murray Fire Department! He took the physical and then was scheduled for an oral board interview! We are so excited! We now just have to wait to hear if he gets the job or not.
Thanksgiving was so fun! Johnny was able to get it off of work and so we went to Jim and Vicki's first at 1:00 and had fun with everyone there. Jill announced that she is having a girl! Yeah! Two new little girls! After that, we went to Johnny's parents and had Thanksgiving there with everyone!
We went and got Jack's pictures taken with his cousins! They were all so cute!
Isabelle was so cute! She would just sit and smile while we waited for the babies to get a cute picture!
We all went and got an ice cream cone afterwards and some crazy lady came up to us and told us how cute they all were! Valley Fair Mall is a scary crazy place!

Here are a couple picture updates from the last month:

He was so tired, but he didn't want to stop eating!

Posing for the camera

He loves his bouncer!
