A Case of The Bah Humbugs!

I can not get into the spirit this season.  I know Christmas is a week and a half away but I am still finding it very difficult to respond at the store when people say Merry Christmas!  We don't have a tree, nor are we getting one because it is too late now, and we have two decorations up.  I am hoping it is just an off year!  My kids are young enough that they really don't seem to mind.

Our lives are really stressful right now.  There are so many things going on and I guess squeezing in a little Christmas cheer is too much for me this year!  I just look forward to this basement being done and the townhome being rented and then I am hope I will be able to breathe again.  Just in time for Johnny to leave!

So fair warning to all!  And Bah Humbug!

Everyone is sick

I HATE being sick!  What I hate even more is sick kids while I am sick!  I just have no motivation to do anything else but survive the day.  A month and a half ago Kate had ear infections.  We did the round of antibiotics, then a week and a half ago she got them again.  Bummer!  Then this week Audrey kept telling me her ears hurt.  I told her no they didn't and she was fine.  I finally took her in and lo and behold she had double ear infections too.  I don't know who needs the humidifier the most at night because everyone is coughing up a storm.  Such fun at the Tani household.

Good news on the basement though.  We hired a guy to tile the bathroom shower and floor.  He is breezing right though it and the whole bathroom should be done by next week!  Hallelujah!

If anyone knows someone who wants to rent a townhome in Murray, call me!!!

So there is my rambling!  My head is stuffy and I can not think clearly so this is most likely the end of a very vague blog post.

Life Changes

We have had some crazy, amazing, life-changing, slightly stressful, lucky, blessing in disguise, exciting changes happen on our lives the past few weeks.  I will just touch on them.

My husband Johnny was sworn in as a member of the United States Military!  He joined the Utah Army National Guard as a flight medic on blackhawk helicopters!  It has been a matter of much prayer and deliberation at our household before the contract was ever signed.  I am so proud of him for even being suggested for the program and then being accepted!  The few people that applied before him didn't even make it!  He will leave next February and I will support him from here while he goes through boot camp and specialized training!

Jack was accepted into the Medicaid Autism Waiver program!!!!  This is huge news!  I was almost crying on the phone when I found out, but I was with Johnny and one of his friends in the middle of Lowe's getting insulation for the basement so I withheld!  Over 600 children applied and only 200 got it from a lottery pick.  We are so lucky and blessed that we were selected.  So basically what it all means is someone will be coming into my home about 14 hours a week giving Jack ABA therapy as well as some respite care on top of that.  And the most amazing thing is it is all FREE!  Oh my gosh we are blessed!  I can't wait to see how this can help our little man!

I quit facebook.  I was tired of it and the drama it brings so I quit and will probably never go back!  It actually feels good!

Audrey had surgery on her eyebrow and things went so well!  She is truly a rock star!  She had a large dermoid cyst that needed to be removed before it started affecting her bone.  I am so proud that she was so strong!

Kate is walking EVERYWHERE!  She is getting into everything and is starting to become a real chatter box!  We love it and her hair is as red as ever!

Our basement is coming along and we now have sheetrock!  Yay yay yay!  It feels so good to have it almost done!

We are now headed into the holidays and can't wait to see what they bring!
