Happy Late Memorial Day!

I love Memorial Day weekend! Not only do we get to remember people who served our country and gave their lives for us, but it also serves as a reminder of the people serving now and all that they are giving! It also provides us numerous opportunities for fun family barbeques!

Jack has been getting his molars in (four total now) and so he ate some ravioli because they were softer on his gums. The following pictures are of his total enjoyment of his meal! He also was figuring out how cold ice is and taking out and putting it back in the ice cube tray! Everything was thoroughly washed out before putting new ice in! Johnny had to work so I was at my parents house where the rules are a little more lax about messy eating!

Walking, walking, walking

Jack s walking a ton. He doesn't really want my help anymore but he still does some pretty crazy crashes! He loves trying to run and will walk with his arms straight out! He is so cute and I will have some pictures soon.

Family Pictures

We got our family pictures taken a little while ago! They are the first real pictures that Johnny and I have had taken since the day of our wedding! We always go to JC Penney Portraits because this eastern European lady is just the best. She always gets the best smiles from Jack and she really has some fun poses. We changed our clothes twice and she was good about it!

Just on a side note, Jack for some reason or another has started to sleep through the night. Well, he slept twice through the night and the other nights he is sleeping for 6-7 hours without waking up, which is like heaven! He consistently wakes up at 6:30-7:00 but I have grown accustomed to that and if he goes to bed at 9:30 I will take it!

Anyway back to the pictures. We tried to do a formal shot with Johnny in his dress uniform and me in a nice shirt with Jack in his cute sweater. As you can see, there aren't any here! They all turned out horrible because Jack hated!!!!!!! his sweater. He was pulling on the zipper the whole time and screaming, so we took the sweater off and at least got a cute one with Johnny!

Swine Flu!!!

Well, what great news to post! I work at the first and only school in the Salt Lake Valley that has closed because of the swine flu!!! It was so funny! We had a big meeting after school and it was determined that Redwood Elementary would be closed from tomorrow until May 19th, for two full weeks. What is so cool is that the kids do not need to make up those days and all contract staff will continue to be paid. There has been one confirmed case and it maybe that there are a couple others. We did have a preschooler throwing up and quite sick so we sent them home today. That made us nervous. Since I have another school I will not be able to take a full two weeks off, but I might go in late on the days that I was supposed to be at Redwood. Anyway, it is funny! I have included a picture of what not to do with a pig, although that is not how the kids caught the flu.
