It is the craziest thing when your first child turns 1! I love him so much and I am so grateful for him. I was thinking yesterday of how I was feeling a year ago at that time. I went through the whole day in my mind and relived it (the fun parts, not so much the labor and delivery). He is the sweetest little guy!! It has all been a little different because he was so sick and we had to cancel his party, but because of that he was able to have three different parties scheduled. He has had two of them and he really had no idea that any of it was for him, which is expected!
The first on was at Grandma and Grandpa Tani's. We had a wonderful meal from Margaret and I decorated a train cake, which I was very proud of!!! We forgot to take the camera to the party so here are some we took before we left:
I do feel a little weird being 15 weeks pregnant at my 1 year old's birthday, but it's all good!
Then last night, we went to our friends' house for a pizza and wii party. It was so much fun!! Jack didn't really realize anything that was going on, especially because he couldn't play the wii with us! He did however like picking at my cake. We haven't really given him anything sweeter than fruit, so he was in heaven when I let him try so cake!
A few days ago, I ran upstairs to grab something and when I came back downstairs, Jack had gone through the ads and was "reading" the grocery ads. He picked out the most colorful and stared and stared and stared. He did this for almost half an hour. He loved it! We tried to move him and he threw a fit so we let him continue looking at the ads.
We also had our first real ravioli in tomato sauce for a meal! We just took off his clothes and let him go at it! He loved them and got it everywhere. He even rubbed it through his hair! There is also a picture of the clean up after.

SOOOO cute! I love that deep thought look on his face while reading. Definitley a Tani Man look!
I didn't know you were pregnant! Congrats! And I didn't know Jack was one already! Man, I really need to get going on this baby thing. Everyone and their mother is having one. Or 2! That's so cute that he was "reading" the ads! He looks very astute!
The big #1! It was a very surreal experience for me too. But not because I had #2 on the way!
I love him reading the ads! Austin gets that same look when reading his magazines (ordering catalogs for boxes, labels, and envelopes). Who knew these things were so interesting?
You are going to let us know boy/girl right? Isn't that around 20 weeks? Wish I could be closer!
Wow, he has gotten a lot of hair! Happy birthday little Jack! YOu are looking great Emily!
He is so adorable. I love the pictures of him "reading," those are priceless. Your train turned out amazingly. I still can't believe that we each have our own little one year old. How time flies...
