It's a Girl!!!!!

We are so excited, Matt and Traci are having a girl in March! They sent us on a wild scavenger hunt with all kinds of fun clues! One of the clues was on our blog and is below this post. It'll be fun to have a girl on this side of the family!

We went to Preston's birthday party and it was fun to see all of our family! Happy 4th Birthday Preston!

Preschool currently has me really burnt out! If I didn't have to deal with all the adults I think working with the kids would keep me completely satisfied! There are so many hoops to jump through and people to keep happy it gets a little stressful at times . . . BUT there is hope on the horizon! UEA is this weekend so I have Thursday and Friday off! Johnny and I are redoing our closets and adding all kinds of organizing things that are very exciting! I love long weekends!

For Lisa!!!

Our baby JACK-o-lantern gives you the last clue:

The Pixton’s had a house,
But we will not go inside,
For that is where the witches live,
Where ghosts and goblins hide.

Knock on their door if you dare!!

Six Month Check-Up

I never know what daddy is going to do with him while I am at work. Jack has taken a bottle very well since I can't nurse him while I am at work, obviously. He is starting to eat more than I pump at lunch though so luckily I have like 3 gallons frozen!

Jack went in for his six-month check up today! I got off work a few hours early and went with Johnny to the pediatrician. Jack is very healthy and it was fun to see where he is right now. He weighs 16.23 pounds which is in the 20th percentile (he is a little guy!). He is 27 inches long which is the 61st percentile. And (drum role please) his head size is in the 94th percentile!!! He is going to be a very smart kid!

We also got his shots for the first time. We were both nervous, and Jack had no idea what hit him, but it was good to get them. We got the polio and DTaP so he got one in each leg. He did NOT like getting shots and hasn't had any before so he really needed mommy afterwards! We gave him a nice warm bath after and luckily we haven't seen many side effects.

Big Big Boy!

Oh Jack is growing up so fast! After President Monson's talk on Sunday morning, I am enjoying every moment even more! I am trying to live in the moment with him and yet get my cleaning done, be a wife, and a full time teacher. Nonetheless, I love Jack and all the happiness that he brings!
Nathan (and Traci) babysat Jack today! They had a lot of fun and played with fun toys! My mom took him out to their house and Nathan told her many times, "Grandma, you can go now!" He also asked (while it was about 55 degrees outside) "Mom, can we take him for a walk now?" Traci finds out on Wednesday what she is having. It is killing Lisa! She can't wait to find out what it is. We are also soooo excited that Jill is expecting as well! We are praying for two girls this time! The next two babies will be so close together. Traci's baby will be born March 2009. Jill's baby (due May 2009) and Jack will only be 14 months apart and that is closer than my cousin Jason and I were and we played together all the time when we were little! Our little family is just growing and growing.
Jack is all smiles until the camera is on him and then he just does this face and stares at the flash!

Jack is not content anymore to just have food fed to him without helping me! I have to give him a spoon in each hand and then he still tries to help. Here I let him have a little extra freedom with the pear sauce. He enjoyed it and luckily we were able to just stick him right in the rub when he was done. My mom had the fantastic idea of making pear sauce with the pears off her tree in the back. We cleaned them and then put them through the Victorio strainer. It was awesome! He loves the pear sauce and we know they are 100 percent organic with no added sugar! He eats a pint of it in a few days!
We gave Jack a bath at my parents' house. I think he would have enjoyed it more had he not concentrated so hard on sitting up the whole time. We got a rag covering him so that it would be appropriate to put it on my blog!!!

I Love My Baby Jack!

I didn't know it was possible to love a little guy so much! I miss him tons and tons when I go to school and can't wait til I can stay home with him! Whenever I come home and pick him up, he just starts giggling and wiggling all over. He grabs my neck and presses his mouth and face all over me. Even though I get totally gooed up, it makes me feel so loved and missed! I have the hardest time putting him down after that to get anything done! I usually carry him around for a good long while!

He LOVES his Kermit the Frog! It has the perfect little arms and legs to hold onto! Poor Kermit also gets his upper lip chewed on a lot by Jack! Thanks Celeste for a fantastic gift. His other frog was given to me by a student I had last year!

He also talks to his toys and tells them when they are not doing what he wants them to do!

If all else fails, he just bites them!

I can already tell he is going to be a BIG talker!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

It was my mom's birthday this past Sunday. Johnny had to work, but everyone else was there. We played games and had cake and ice cream! It was so fun to be together!

Jack is now starting to sit up for longer periods of time! There is no guarentee that he will not just tip over and bonk his head, but if I prop him up, he can stay for at least 15 seconds. This is huge! He is scooting too! We won't have peace for much longer! He grabs anything on the table within arms reach and throws it on the floor! He loves everything that are not his toys...keys, pens, glasses, cords, cell phones, paper, and plastic bags!

He is eating lots of sweet potatoes, fresh peaches, and bananas and doesn't like much else in the solids department. He is biting me when he nurses too! If anyone has any recommendations to help him stop, let me know. All of his dark hair has fallen out and he is now a blondie!

We went and visited Johnny at work, and it was so fun to see him on the job! He showed us all of the different rigs he uses and baby Jack even sat in the driver's seat! Johnny loves his job out there and it really is worth the drive because of the good ol' country feeling there.

I also found this pictures from baby Jack's first pool party:

He was fine with mommy:

But daddy pushed him too far:

Daddy made it up to him:

Jack loves life and his pointer finger, and lives in a constant state of surprise:

New Jack Pictures

We just got Jack's pictures back from Penny's. They turned out so cute! He was really cranky when we took them, but the girl who worked with us was so good! There are a few so enjoy! I may be biased, but I think he is the cutest baby in the whole wide world!
I am back in school and it is actually going really well. Jack hasn't forgotten who I am, and he has been doing really well going to different people while Johnny and I are both at work. Johnny watches him most days and my mom, Margaret (Johnny's mom), and my sisters-in-law Traci and Celeste, are so wonderful to help us out so he doesn't have to go to a daycare center.
Johnny is doing so well at work and continues to tell me stories that amaze me! He works so well under pressure and with very hard situations! I am so proud of him! I know I keep saying that, but I am!
